SW-MOTECH Introduces New V-LOC Saddlebag System

20 years after revolutionizing tank bag attachment with their patented tank ring system, SW-MOTECH introduces its spiritual successor with an innovative new attachment system for saddlebags: The V-LOC system. 

The V-LOC is a flat, V-shaped plastic holder with an integrated Fidlock® magnetic system. A forged steel bracket connects the V-LOC to the motorcycle. The V-LOC's magnets effortlessly guide the side bag into the correct position until it audibly clicks into the mechanical locking system.

Click & Ride

The concept behind the V-LOC system is to make the entire process of mounting saddlebags as simple as possible without compromising the strength of the attachment. To do so, SW-MOTECH’s engineers looked to the simplicity and convenience of the QUICK-LOCK PRO Tank Ring System. A much more robust solution was needed for the additional load and stability requirements of side luggage, so the engineers and designers put their heads together and the V-LOC was born. Featuring stronger magnets and a mechanical mechanism spanning much more surface area for a strong and stable mounting connection.

Mounting of a V-LOC side bag remains just as simple as the PRO Tank Ring System:  A one-handed process that ends in a satisfying click confirming the mechanical hooks are in place–click and ride.

Managing Director Kai Jockel, who was closely involved in the development of the V-LOC carrier, explains: “After revolutionizing luggage solutions for the front of the bike with our tank bags, we’re now achieving a similar breakthrough for the rear of the motorcycle.”

New V-LOC Side Bags

The new V-LOC compatible side bags belong to the Legend Gear and WP (waterproof) SW-MOTECH luggage lines. The Legend Gear line features a more classic design for style-conscious riders, while the WP line is a robust, waterproof line tailored for commuters and touring riders.

Theft Protection for Side Bags

When the bags click onto the V-LOC carrier, the locking mechanism is triggered, which also prevents the bag lid from opening. With the separately available lock set, riders can use a key to lock the side bag to the carrier, which also locks the lid of the bag at the same time.

Legend Gear Side Bags

Slim, fast, and lockable. Featuring the innovative new V-LOC system for hassle-free, click-and-go mounting and available in two different sizes. The recessed back panel of the bags allows them to be V-LOC attached close to the motorcycle, while the sturdy EVA material provides structure for the shape of the bag while empty, even at high speeds.

Side Bags WP

With the new V-LOC compatible WP side bags, SW-MOTECH brings everyday practicality and premium waterproof performance together in a sleek design. Built for riders who value flexibility on the road, the bag combines a rigid structure with the comfort of a soft case. The V-LOC mounting system ensures quick, secure attachment, while a broad selection of MOLLE accessories lets riders adapt their luggage setup to any journey.

V-LOC Fitments and Availability

Expanded Legend Gear Line Offerings

The Legend Gear line continues to grow–with stylish bags in a classic, timeless look and modern technology. The compact Tail Bag LR3 offers 6 liters of storage, expandable to 12 liters—ideal for day rides or short trips. The Tank Bag LT4 uses the proven PRO Tank Ring System and expands from 4 to 6 liters with its zipper extension and features a MOLLE lid. Completing the range, the Leg Bag LA13 provides maximum freedom of movement while keeping essentials close at hand.

A New Territory Unlocked

SW-MOTECH is expanding its range with a completely new off-road luggage line. The exciting new line is developed for riders who don't ask if it's going to get tough–but how tough it can get. The new line focuses on maximum robustness, modularity and flexibility–without the need for a luggage rack. Impervious to mud, water, snow, rain, sand and dust. Built to keep going through all the tip-overs and worse.

The first glimpse will be exclusively at EICMA 2025–before the series even gets its name or final design. What is already clear: Off-road luggage is about to get tougher, smarter–and uncompromisingly SW-MOTECH.
